On the Roof of Europe - the Alps.

The Alps - the highest mountains of Europe formed over hundreds of millions of years during the African and Eurasian tectonic plates' collision are one of the most interesting and beautiful mountains on the Continent.  The Alps run through eight countries: Slovenia, Austria, Liechtenstein, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France and Monaco. Their highest is Mont Blanc, its height is 4,810 m above sea level and is on the Italian-French border.
But in that post I will write about the Austrian and German Alps. Our journey begin in the Alpine foreland in the eastern part of Austria, quite close to Vienna.

A little town not far from Innsbruck. In the Brenner Pass. Those houses perfect into the Alpine landscape.

The Brenner Pass

Imst - A little town situated in the western part of Austria. Apart from winter sports the town is known as a place where in 1949 was founded a charitable foundation for poor children - the first SOS Children's Village.

From Austria we go to Germany to Bavaria.

The Upper Danube. In the some places the river soaks in the rocks.

And here a Bavarian swan fed by other tourists and me ;)

This we finish our journey. I hope you liked it and you will be visiting my blog ;)
