Neuschwanstein Castle - in the German Wonderland

Neuschwanstein Castle - The 19th-century Romanesque Revival building is one of the most known castles in the World. It was commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria who was probably mentally incompetent and wanted to escape to his own world. The king was murdered in a Bavarian lake not far from Munich before the castle had been completed.
Now the castle is visited by over one million tourists a year what makes it the most often visted castle in Germany. Unfortunately taking photographs inside is forbidden there so I have only outside-looking photos.

Neuschwanstein Castle is situated in the Alps in the Southern Bavaria close to the German boder with Austria.

The major gate into the castle.

In the castle we can meet tourists from all over the World, mainly from China and Japan.

The view from Neuschwanstein Castle at the alpine valley.

Soon I will add photographs from my alpine journey ;)
